Hi my name is Yolanda and I am the owner of The Creative Occasion. I have always loved to create and decorate. I would be the first volunteer in helping set up family birthdays and holidays. When I was growing up, being a decorator or crafter was not considered an acceptable career choice.

Fast forward to the pandemic, my whole frame of mind changed. In 2019 my daughters bought me my first Cricut, it was like a sign for me. As I began learning my Cricut and creating paper decorations, I fell in love all over again with the art of decor.

Little did I know how therapeutic designing and decorating would be for me. I love it! It's a great feeling of satisfaction to come up with your own design and then assembling it to see the final result. So after second guessing myself for almost a year, I opened up my Etsy shop in 2020. I am still learning everyday on how to elevate myself, and it feels great to invest in myself and in something that I love to do.
